Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow answered several questions on a range of topics, from energy sources of his country to relations with Turkey.

Turkmen President said the visit will boost bilateral relations.

Having been elected President for the second time, Berdimuhamedow will pay his first foreign visit to Turkey. Berdimuhamedow gave an interview to Turkish press members at the Presidential Palace.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said Turkmenistan that has the world's second largest natural gas beds, plans to open new markets in natural gas industry.

"We are working on possibilities to sell natural gas to Europe. There are growing opportunities as a result of natural gas exploration work in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. We are also renovating the pipeline going northward," he said.

Saying that he believes his visit will improve Turkmen-Turkish relations, Berdimuhamedow noted that "The Republic of Turkey is a strategic parner for us. I am confident that my visit to Turkey will add momentum to relations that aim at increasing the prosperity of our peoples."
